Subject: Sedan Car Crash - 10-7-06

Here's an update - We settled with the insurance company on Monday. They wanted to total the car and deduct a $3500 bid by some salvager/recycler which would have only given us $6500. We at the same time received their estimate of damage and they had added labor which is what tripped it over the $10,000 mark. We protested but they wouldn't redo the estimate, but instead offered my latest guesstament of about $7500 which I think is doable. We accepted and they saw the check is in the mail.

The attached pic pretty much shows it where we are, about a 5 inch push to the right on both sides. The engine has to still come out and then the frame guy will take over. It's slated to get re-bent Nov 6th. Then we should begin the long assemble process. We've ordered a new Heidt IFS front end from Steve (Sunrise Color) which will end up being the best the Chevy has ever handled, when it's all done.

The still mystery is how to rebuild the destroyed wood in Ann's side door pillar?? Any Ideas?? If Yes, please email me, ok!!
